Forum: prelinger Subject: Windows closes on Prelinger downloads

I have downloaded to my desktop (HP Pavilion, Windows XP) some of the Prelinger films for the middle school history classes I teach. (MPEG2 files) If I try to put them into a folder, and then try to open the folder, Windows says it has encountered an error and must shut down / restart. There's no problem running the individual videos from the files sitting on the computer desktop, only when trying to open a folder some are copied into. It doesn't matter how many or which files I put in a folder, same problem. Any ideas about what is going on?
